Our New York Office

The Institute for Philanthropy has opened a second office in New York to accompany its headquarters in London. This event was marked by a wonderful launch in September 2008.

Dr. Salvatore LaSpada, the Institute’s Chief Executive, said that:

“Given both our mission of increasing effective philanthropy internationally, and the increasing diversity of the donors with whom we work, we felt that opening this office was the next logical step. The US is a nation with arguably the world’s most generous givers; it is also home to some of the most innovative grant-making to be found anywhere. As a location, it is therefore a natural fit for the international expansion of our work.”

The Institute continues to develop its advisory services for wealthy individuals, families and financial institutions, as well as its networks of US-based donors. The New York office is staffed by Katherine Lorenz, who is a board member of the Cynthia & George Mitchell Foundation and an alumna of the Institute’s international donor education programme, The Philanthropy Workshop (TPW). Previously, Miss Lorenz worked for five years at a Mexican NGO, Puente a la Salud Comunitaria (Bridge to Community Health), which she co-founded in March 2003.
