YPI Programme Manager: James Townsend
James Townsend joined the Institute for Philanthropy in March 2007 as Programme Manager of the Youth and Philanthropy Initiative, an innovative and unique citizenship programme for schools. Prior to joining the Institute James was a member of the inaugural Teach First cohort and the first Teach First Participant President, and had just returned from a four-month, five thousand-mile bicycle ride from Kampala, Uganda to Cape Town, South Africa. He graduated with a degree in Modern History from New College, Oxford, in 2003.
