What we do

Through our offices in London and New York we:

  • Provide education and advisory services to donors
  • Build philanthropy networks in the UK and around the world
  • Work to raise the awareness and understanding of philanthropy

How we do it

We provide a range of programmes and advisory services for individuals and families, foundations, schools and financial institutions, each of which is rooted in our unique model of donor education. We also publish bespoke pieces of research, provide advice about how to achieve successful philanthropy, and hold seminars and conferences to discuss the latest trends and opportunities in charitable giving.

Our programmes

  • The Philanthropy Workshop (TPW) offers philanthropists the skills for strategic giving. Established by the Rockefeller Foundation and now a project of our London and New York offices, TPW is the first and the best port of call for individuals who have just sold a company, launched their own giving programme or have inherited a leadership role in their family's trust
  • The Youth and Philanthropy Initiative (YPI) is an international programme that aims to develop the community leaders of the future. Participating students are given a hands-on experience of philanthropy that provides them with the skills and awareness to make a positive difference to their communities. YPI currently operates in over 40 schools in London, the North West of England and Scotland and will expand into over 150 schools throughout the UK within three years
  • Next Generation Philanthropy is a training programme in strategic philanthropy and a collaborative funding network for young inheritors aged 18-30. The first of its kind in Europe, the programme gives the philanthropists of tomorrow the tools for effective giving
  • Community Foundation Futures is a strategic philanthropy and donor advising training course for community foundation staff, launched with the support and involvement of the Community Foundation Network
  • We also offer bespoke advising services to help individuals, families and corporations to achieve maximum impact in their giving, these include seminars on effective giving in partnership with private banks, law firms and accountancy firms
  • Through Think Philanthropy, a series of lectures and events on giving, and our Research and Publications, including Investment Matters: in search of better charity asset management and Give Differently: a how to guide to philanthropy, we work to raise awareness about philanthropy in the UK
