Community Foundation Essentials
Empowering community philanthropy
Donor Education Training for Community Foundation Staff
The UK's 57 community foundations are uniquely placed to bring about positive change: their staff members have a nuanced understanding of the issues that affect their local areas, and work closely with a variety of engaged and dynamic donors.
Working in partnership with the Community Foundation Network, we have devised Community Foundation Essentials; a four day programme over two modules which provides training in donor education for staff of the UK's community foundations.
Community Foundation Essentials: Course Goals and Content
The goals of Community Foundation Essentials are threefold:
- To introduce participants to the elements of strategic philanthropy, and advanced thinking on working with donors;
- To demonstrate to participants how they can achieve a high level of engagement with donors, helping them to be strategic and effective.
- To take their donor communication and relationship skills to the next level.
During the programme, participants will have the chance to test ideas in role plays and group exercises and to make one or two site visits. Topics covered include a framework for strategic giving, advanced due diligence and approaches to evaluation.
