Programmes Assistant: Deanna Laforet

Deanna Laforet joined the Institute for Philanthropy in November 2009 as a Programmes Assistant, focusing on marketing and programmes administration. She first came to the Institute as an intern helping research and coordinate the international module of The Philanthropy Workshop to China, having lived in Beijing in 2005-2006 as part of her BA in Chinese at SOAS, University of London. On graduating in 2008 Deanna was awarded a scholarship to pursue advanced Mandarin study in Taiwan for a year, during which time she volunteered at the Taiwan Environmental Protection Union working on translation, marketing, and campaigning. She has participated in a number of sporting events to raise money for charity, and was part of the 2009 Taipei International Dragon Boat Championship women's silver medal team.
