Trustee: Ken Wild OBE
Ken Wild joined the Board of the Institute for Philanthropy as a Trustee in September 2010. He retired as a Senior Partner of Deloitte in May 2010, having been a Partner since 1984. He spent his career working on various aspects of technical accounting and auditing. For many years he headed up the UK firm's accounting and auditing technical activities, having direct responsibility for all of the firm's accounting and auditing policies. Ken was also the Deloitte Global Leader of International Accounting Standards. He was responsible for the formation of views and interpretations of International Accounting Standards and for all the technical support in respect of International Accounting Standards on a global basis.
Outside the firm Ken had various external appointments including the UK Accounting Standards Board, the Financial Reporting Advisory Board to the Treasury and the Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He is a well-known speaker at conferences, academic events and seminars, and has numerous articles and books on accounting to his name published by commercial publishers. In 2011, he was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for his services to financial reporting.
