Alumni Reunions

The Institute for Philanthropy organises annual reunions for alumni of The Philanthropy Workshop (TPW) in both London and New York.  These reunions build on the networking aspect of TPW, and are focused on peer consulting and leading edge speakers and topics.  They also offer an opportunity for alumni to meet the latest cohort of TPW participants.

Over the course of 1.5 days, the sessions will showcase the pioneering work of fellow alumni, involve live case studies, and feature leading figures in the field.  Prior to planning the reunion content, we will consult alumni for issue areas they would like covered and feature this in the curriculum where possible.

UPCOMING EVENTS AND AVAILABILITY:

COST:

  • Free to members of TPW Alumni Network Association (those who contribute a minimum of $5,000 per year to the network)
  • $2,500 for all other TPW alumni

Deep Dive Skills Days

Responding to the TPW network's interest in skills development, the Institute for Philanthropy has developed Deep Dive Skills Days: one day in-depth training on advanced strategic philanthropy skills for TPW alumni.

Taught on the day immediately prior to Alumni Reunions in London and New York, training focuses on topics such as advovacy, deep due diligence and advanced evaluation.

Philanthropy Plus Learning Days

Philanthropists stepping up to a greater role as advocates for their issue area or philanthropy more generally, are encouraged to join the Institute for Philanthropy's, Philanthropy Plus Learning days.

The open two-day course will see TPW alumni and leading philanthropists from the wider community, enhance their capabilities to practice and advocate for strategic philanthropy. The course will focus on fundraising, managing media relations, communications and marketing strategy and leadership development.

Philanthropy Plus Learning Days will be run in London in the Spring, and New York in Autumn.

  • $1,600 for 2 days for TPW Alumni Association members (those who contribute a minimum of $5,000 per year to the network)

Developing World Modules

Each year we organise international educational modules for alumni, which explore philanthropic innovation in a developing world environment.

With site visits to pioneering grassroots organisations, and talks with leading journalists, NGO founders and academics, participants gauge the complexities and opportunities of catalysing social development in international settings.

Since this module is run parallel to Module 2 of TPW, alumni who participate will have opportunities to meet the current cohort participants, exchanging ideas and experiences, and enhancing their network of peers.

TPW alumni are also welcome to bring their family members and co-decision makers in their philanthropy on the developing world modules.

UPCOMING EVENTS AND AVAILABILITY:

COST:

  • $7,000 for TPW Alumni Network Association members (those who contribute a minimum of $5,000 per year to the network); same rate for their family or co-decision makers
  • $9,000 for all other TPW alumni; same rate for their family or co-decision makers
