Established in 2000, the Institute for Philanthropy is one of the world's leading organisations providing education and thought leadership in strategic philanthropy.

With offices in London and New York, we work closely with a global network of leaders in the philanthropic sector, including wealthy individuals and families engaged in philanthropy, analysts and researchers, private companies, trusts, foundations and schools.

 

 

Read the two year evaluation conducted by York Consulting on the Youth and Philanthropy Initiative (YPI), the programme we run in 90 schools in England and Northern Ireland. YPI is a combination of in-class learning and active community engagement which brings schools and charities together around tackling issues in the local area while also developing pupils’ social and professional skills. 90% of teachers felt their pupils’ teamwork skills had improved and 88% saw improvement in presentation skills. YPI channels funds to local charities and inspires a lifelong commitment to charitable giving among young people. One pupil commented, “I’d definitely like to continue to support charities. I know that it doesn’t have to mean ‘volunteering’ once a week or something like that, it can be using my skills to support them in other ways.
